We have read the books 'Pumpkin Soup' and 'A pipkin of pepper' by Helen Cooper. We were so enthused and motivated by the stories that we have had a mini theme of 'pumpkins' running for a few weeks. Its not surprising the children have loved this theme. Just look at all the fun we have been having!
Pumpkin Soup!As we have been thinking and learning about 'Harvest' we have added a bakery into our continuous provision. The children have had lots of opportunities to take on the roles of the baker, the shop assistant and the customer. You can see we have been writing shopping lists, writing orders, counting out pennies and practising being helpful on friendly when working at the till!
The Class Bakery! To round of our Traditional tales topic Reception held a Fairy Tale ball. The children came dressed in their finest attire. They danced beautifully for the parents and carers that came to watch.
On Wednesday 27th January and Thursday 28th January the Reception children welcomed their Grandmas and Grandpas to 'Stay and Play'. This tied into our Traditional Tales topic as we were focusing on Little Red Riding Hood. We hope you all had fun on your visit. Thank you for coming.
