Worship

Collective Worship is central to the life of St Margaret’s Church of England School. Mrs Spencer leads whole school worship every Monday. Key Stage Collective Worship takes on a Tuesday and class Collective Worship takes place on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
We have a Friday Celebration Assembly each week where children are presented with certificates and awards. Their achievements both in and out of school are celebrated. We also welcome visitors to lead Collective Worship. Reverend Nigel Sinclair from St Margaret's regularly leads Worship. Horsforth Churches Together also visit school to lead 'Open the Book' assemblies which prove very popular with children and staff.
During each act of Collective Worship a candle is lit to begin our special time together.  Our s
chool prayer is said at the end of our worship time. The colour of the cloth on our reflection tables in the school hall and in our entrance area is changed according to the time of the Christian Year.

This table shows our half termly 'Christian Values' or 'Values in Action' and will be our Collective Worship and whole school core value focus for each half term.

Our School Prayer

This is our school
Let peace live here
Let the school be full of happiness
Let love be all around
Love of one another
Love of mankind
Love of life
And love of God
Let us remember
That as many hands build a house
So many hearts make a school
Amen
