In Reception music is woven into the everyday routines of our children.. Singing happens daily as a means to gain attention and focus, to develop each child's confidence in finding their singing voice and as key driver to support the teaching and learning of the wider curriculum. Young children love singing songs and rhymes and we capatilize on their natural enthusiam. Tuned and untuned percussion instruments are part of our continuous provision for children to experiment with and explore of their own choosing. We also teach weekly music lessons from the Charanga scheme. Our Reception children learn to listen and respond to different genres of music and to build up a bank of songs and rhymes. Our Reception children develop confidence to perform in front of their peers and larger audiences made up of the school community and family members. Music is an integral part of our Reception curriculum,
