Which sandwich would you choose?

We made the sandwiches that we had designed and evaluated them. We gave marks out of 10 for appearance, taste and healthiness.

Bread Tasting

In DT we have been designing sandwiches. We tasted various breads and evaluated them to help us choose the bread that we would each use for our own sandwiches. We decided not to base our designs on the Roman food that we had researched-we thought that flamingo brains or camel's feet might be hard to come by in modern day Britain!

Roman Invasion

To begin our topic on the Romans in Britain we invited a Roman into school to tell us all about our life here. How old would he be now if he were a real Roman?

Who would live in a house like this?

We were given Victorian names of children who had lived in Victorian Horsforth. We used the 1881 census to find out about our Victorian families then we went in search of the houses that we had lived in. Many are still there, some are not!

Good Vibrations

Year 4 had a sound activity afternoon. We worked in groups to explore how sound is made and how sound can be changed. As you might imagine, it was a very noisy afternoon and Mrs Cowburn and Mrs N thought that the next time we have an activity afternoon they would like to explore the sound of silence!

Rewind to Christmas

Children from Westbrook Lane School joined us on a journey back to the first Christmas when Jesus was born. It was a 'Churches Together' activity day to help children find out more about the Christmas story through drama, art, listening to stories and watching film clips. We had a fabulous afternoon.

Dance

Our dance is based around the theme of World War 1. Nicola from Leeds R L is working with us. She is very impressed by our listening skills and our dance moves! We think that she is a great dance teacher.

Yorkshire Wildlife Park

All of Year 4 visited the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. We had a great day out and found out a lot about animals and how their teeth are different to ours.

Brushing up on our teeth topic!

We brushed our teeth then checked how clean they were using a disclosing tablet. Teeth brushing has never been so much fun!
